About Broccoli Sprout + Beetroot Juice
We listened to you! Thanks to your feedback we have added beetroot to our Broccoli Sprout Juice which gives the juice a sweetness and depth of flavour.
Independent laboratories tested Vegus Foods’ Broccoli Sprout Juice to contain at least 25 micromoles of isothiocyanates including sulforaphane per 10 ml, so one 40ml bottle of Broccoli Sprout + Beetroot juice gives you at least 50 micromoles isothiocyanates including sulforaphane.
The Johns Hopkins Institute recommended 40 micromoles sulforaphane a day.
How Can I Get Enough Sulforaphane?
This is a great question! Just one bottle of our Broccoli Sprout + Beetroot juice contains 125% of the amount recommended by the Johns Hopkins Institute.
Alternatively, you could eat:
1.3 kg / 2.7 lbs fresh broccoli … or
0.6 kg / 1.3 lbs fresh broccoli sprouts
*** We juice only young broccoli sprouts because at 4 to 5 days old sprouts contain over one hundred times more sulforaphane per gram than fully mature broccoli. ***
Why is Sulforaphane Important?
There have been more than 1,700 peer reviewed studies on sulforaphane (you will find some of these on our website under ‘The Truth’. To find out more about this amazing phytonutrient, please go to our section on Sulforaphane.
