Extract: All green plants also contain chlorophyll, the light-collecting molecule. Chlorophyll and its derivatives are very effective at binding polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (carcinogens largely from incomplete combustion of fuels), heterocyclic amines (generated when grilling foods), aflatoxin (a toxin from molds in foods which causes liver cancer), and other hydrophobic molecules.

Effect of wheat grass juice in supportive care of terminally ill cancer patients — A tertiary cancer centre experience from India
This study examines how wheatgrass juice increases the haemoglobin count in blood – haemoglobin carries oxygen to cells.

Note: There are many claims of chlorophyll’s ability to increase haemoglobin due to it having a very similar molecular structure. However there is no evidence to prove that ingested chlorophyll would retain this molecular structure, or that its original molecular structure is the reason why wheatgrass juice increases haemoglobin count. However, this study shows that wheatgrass juice can increase haemoglobin along with serum total protein and albumin.
